March 2015 outlook



  February was cold with very little snow. Only 4.9 inches fell at MSP airport, which is about 3 inches below our average for February. It was a lot snowier last February, with 18.4 inches measured in the Twin Cities.
   
  Only 5 days in February were warmer than normal. Our warmest temperature at MSP airport was 36 degrees, on February 7. The coldest reading was 11 degrees below zero on February 19 and 23. The average temperature for the month was 9.7 degrees below normal in the Twin Cities. 

  Looking ahead, the March temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a slight tendency for below normal temperatures over Minnesota and Wisconsin:




  If you like milder temps, try to stay optimistic. Our average high temperature in the Twin Cities rises from 34 degrees on March 1st to 49 degrees on March 31st.
